Nav Chatterji founded Lazy Eight® in 2016 with the vision of building what a creative agency of the future can look like from India for the world. Inspired by the idea of blending creativity with cutting-edge technology, Nav envisioned a space where inspired creativity and innovation thrive without geographical boundaries.
Prior to Lazy Eight, Nav worked with friends to build nearly a dozen technology startups in the US and India. He started his career as an investment banker on Wall Street and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with degrees in Economics and Computer Engineering. This diverse background has equipped him with a unique blend of business acumen and technical expertise, which he brings to his leadership at Lazy Eight.
Under Nav's leadership, Lazy Eight has grown into one of India's leading brand, design, and technology agencies, helping over 400 brands from india and around the world with a presence today in new delhi, New York City, Dubai, and Singapore. The agency's client portfolio spans startups to Fortune 50 companies, with notable brands such as Uber, Adidas, Solana, Hyperloop-One, and Sabyasachi. Each of these partnerships reflects Lazy Eight's commitment to delivering exceptional results and pushing creative boundaries.
Nav helped rethink the traditional creative agency model by adopting a fully remote, top-heavy structure with senior professionals (Principals). This ensures direct client interaction with decision-makers, high-quality service, and efficiency without traditional overhead costs. Lazy Eight's radical work-life balance initiatives include a two/four-day work week and four-hour days. Additionally, Nav led the integration of AI into operations using custom narrow LLM models and agents, positioning the agency as a future-forward leader in the industry.
Nav's contributions to the field have been recognized through numerous awards and accolades, including those from Awwwards, FWA, Webby’s, CSS Design Awards, Asian Design Awards, and The Dieline. Beyond his professional achievements, Nav is passionate about giving back to the community and mentoring the next generation of creative professionals. He actively participates in industry events, sharing his insights on brand building and the future of creative agencies, and serves as a judge for Design Awards Asia.
Nav's personal philosophy centers around fostering innovation and creativity while maintaining a balanced life. He believes that a happy and motivated team is key to delivering exceptional results. This belief is reflected in Lazy Eight’s culture, where team members are encouraged to take ownership of their work and pursue their passions.
Nav grew up in Ft. Worth, Texas, and attended middle and high school in New Delhi. In 2013, he decided to move back to India to be closer to his parents. Currently, he lives outside of New Delhi with his wife, daughter, and their adopted indie, Ishka. His hobbies include black and white photography, exploring generative AI art, and microfarming.
